The event takes place in August of each year, and draws large crowds of spectators, dignitaries, and people in need of

good  entertainment that follows the competition. Here is the sequence of events:

 

Twirlers from Rijeka, Prve riječke mažoretkinje, enters through old town gate...

Lovran Wind Orchestra will play a short tune each time the competitor puts spear through the ring

 

 

Bruno Krajcar composed an anthem to Prstenac, and sang it along with Alen Vitasović

 

Istrian Župan and Croatian President will greet participants and make some other points

 

 

 

President Josipović asked for an urgent hit "u sridu" against those who robbed the country,

 

then he declared the games open

 

The competitor was given go ahead with the sound of roženice and had to hit the ring in prescribed time

 

 

 

Then he brings the ring on the spear in front of Honor Jury, which validates the hit

 

 

 

And the 2010 winner is... the youngest competitor, Aleksa Vale from Puntera

 

 

 

Another winner: President Josipović received warm applause and a few gifts from Istrian hosts
